MedXMentor runs annual mentorship cohorts that span eight months. During this period, students are matched with mentors and engage in both virtual and in-person sessions. These sessions cover essential areas such as grant writing, public speaking, career planning, CV development, and teamwork. Mentees also work on collaborative projects, including research proposals and community-based interventions.
Our mentorship model emphasises structured communication, clearly defined goals, and regular progress tracking. This helps build trust, accountability, and consistent personal development. Mentors are trained to serve not only as advisors but also as role models who guide mentees through academic challenges, career transitions, and real-world
decision-making.
In addition to the formal mentor-mentee pairings, MedXMentor also trains campus ambassadors who lead local chapters. These ambassadors are instrumental in organizing events, recruiting students, and fostering a culture of mentorship on their campuses. Their leadership ensures that mentorship is accessible, contextualised, and sustainable within the academic environment.
We are excited to unveil our newly chosen Campus Ambassadors for 2025 — a diverse and vibrant team of student leaders from universities across Uganda, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Kenya, and Burundi.
These ambassadors embody the core of the MedXMentor mission: to provide future health professionals with knowledge, skills, confidence, motivation, experiences, and life lessons through a mentoring program.
Together, We Journey With You.
